Storm Front, Monument Valley, UT
I set out on an unpromising, cloudy, grey predawn and by the time I crested the last hill before descending into Monument Valley, the sun rose above the horizon and its light lit the buttes on fire as storm clouds rolled overhead. It lasted just a few seconds, just had time to bang out a few handheld shots. By the time I set up my tripod, the display was over.
